Stiles was not one to welcome change. Sorry, but he just didn't like it. Whenever something changed, whenever someone new rolled into town, trouble came with them. Especially if they turned out to be a recluse with a camera, see: Matt, anyone? So, unfortunately for Peter, Stiles was a little biased from the get go. None of the wolves smelled anything weird - "He has a unique smell, Stiles. It's probably his soap." - but that didn't really put his mind at ease.

"You're being paranoid, and frankly, it's annoying." Lydia oh so kindly informed Stiles as they walked down the upstairs corridor. That Parker kid was in two of his classes so far, and Stiles had been Code Red all day. "Call me when he kills somebody."

"That's so HELPFUL!" Stiles called after her, grumbling and shaking his head as he headed for his last class. "Fine, we'll just wait for somebody to die! Am I living in a freaking Groundhog Day here?"

"I'll just do it myself." Because talking to himself was going to get him everywhere in life.

"Heyyy, Peter, right?" Stiles could be friendly when he wanted to be. He had social skills. Maybe. "I'm Stiles."

Peter didn't understand why they had to move from the city to a town two hours driving away from it. New York city was his home. But according to his aunt this was better for him. He'd been acting really strange for a while and with the death of his uncle it was time for a change. She thought so anyway. Peter didn't agree. He finally was getting somewhere with Gwen. Now he was nowhere. Worse part was he had already been severely lacking in friends in New York, now he was spending his last year completely alone with super powers he still didn't completely understand.

There was no way he could easily find answers now as Oscorp was back in New York. Not in this shitty town.

Every thing about it he hated so he kept mostly to himself. Like he loved to do anyway. It wasn't until a few weeks in that he began to feel a little comfortable. Enough that he was bringing his camera to school again snapping pictures here and there.

On his way to his final class of the day Peter suddenly found himself face to face with a student. One that was talking to him. Still he looked back, as if there was another Peter this guy could be talking to.

"Yeah, peter." Then he remembered. Stilinski. The one with the smart-ass comments but sucked at lacrosse. He'd seen a game.

"You are on the lacrosse team right?" Pushing his glasses up his nose he couldn't help but grin a little.

To say that Peter was good at chemistry was a little bit of an understatement. Still, Gwen had been better at it. Quickly he pushed the thought of Gwen out of his mind. That was never going to happen now and he needed to stop being salty over it.

"You want me to tutor you?" Because that's what this was starting to sound like.

"Aren't you friends with Lydia? She is like, super smart." He had seen her during class, writing her notes and the answers to problems on the black board. "And you know her." Why was he trying to push Stiles away? This was a perfect chance to make a friend.

No wonder he had barely any back at his other school.

Peter had to admit, he was feeling a bit like a dick now. Here this guy was trying to be his friend because he probably had seemed lonely (and pathetic) and he was trying to brush him off.

"No no. I... am not busy." he really wasn't. There was nothing to do in this town and after a while experimenting with his new found powers got boring too.

"You want to hang out after class? I can look at your notes then?" They were already a few minutes late so he grabbed hold of Stiles bicep, just a light hold and tugging so they would start moving to class while walking.

"Sounds good." With a brief grin and a salute (why the hell had he done that?) he entered their shared class room and took his usual seat on the third row. He enjoyed this class, this teacher, Yukimura was his name, had an interesting way of sharing knowledge.

Writing down his notes like the good boy he was by the time class had ended he'd almost forgotten about his plans after.

He met Stiles by his locker, taking out his skate board that he rode when going to school.

"Okay. I got everything." Chemistry notes were in his backpack so was all of their homework for the day.

"Yeah, it is." Peter looked surprised Stiles recognized the board, especially since it was pretty old and battered. It had been used one too many times yet shelved once he'd gotten his powers. But here it wasn't really an option to swing his way too school. Not like it had been in New York where everyone knew his alter ego. he wondered if his absence was going noticed.

His super hero career sure had been short-lived.

"Cool jeep." Peter hit the hood what was supposed to be a pat really but ended up being much more than that as he heard the car groan in it's own way. Shit. Quickly he retreated his hand and let out an awkward laugh.

Quickly he got in the other side.

"So uhm. Yeah. Thanks for wanting to hang out. And stuff."

"Halo 4 is cool." He'd played it briefly but then had gotten distracted with other things. "If you ever change your mind and want to learn." He raised his board, wiggling it. "I got a spare." A few actually yet this one remained his favorite. And most comfortable to skate with.

Noticing they were not following the speed limit he frowned. "Uhhh, Stiles, isn't your dad a cop?" He'd heard something about that. Shouldn't he be on his best behavior then? Or maybe he was suffering from a complex and did he exact opposite? It didn't make him feel uncomfortable it just made him worry they might get pulled over.

He didn't fancy getting his ass kicked by his aunt.

"I uhh. I'm from New York City. We moved here because well.." He frowned. "Aunt May thought it would be better for me."

"I am more worried about getting thrown in jail for your need for speed." He considered Stiles his offer. It would be the first time he'd go over and play games with someone. Immediately he felt anxious but Stiles seemed alright. besides, he knew it would make his aunt happy if he went.

Might as well make it worth his while for one year he'd be here as he'd already decided he was going to move back to New York the moment he graduated.

"Sure, I'll come."

Wondering if they were almost there as he was craving coffee and a snack he shrugged at the other question. He was regretting mentioning it.

"Don't think it's that. Anyway, are there like things to do here? It seems.. quiet?"

That told Peter enough. Seemed his daddy instead of being harder on him for being the sheriff's son just got him out of trouble instead. Fine by him.

"Oh. Guess I just haven't heard of them." No surprise there. He didn't have any friends yet so there was no one to invite him. Apparently it didn't matter where he went being an outcast didn't change.

"Eh, that sounds like home." He supposed for a small town that was a big deal. For his own city? Not so much. Stuff like that happened daily.

"How does that work though. Fake bombing covering for a real one?"

Getting drunk was going to be a problem but he wisely didn't mention that. "Ah, I am not much of a drinker." He said instead with a sheepish little grin. It sounded fun enough and he probably should go to make more friends yet going alone didn't sound all too appealing to him.

"Sounds like fun. Not the fake bombing. The lacrosse thing. Bombings aren't fun. Unless it's in games, then it can be a little fun. And movies. Explosions in movies are pretty cool. But they are fake so, no one gets hurt."

And now was a good time to shut the fuck up. Looking away from Stiles he stared out of the window instead. "There's a whole lot of nothing in this town is there?" No houses, just a road and trees surrounding them.

Peter was starting to wonder how far that coffee shop was. It seemed like they had been driving for a while. Maybe he should try and convince aunt may to buy a second hand. It didn't seem he could always easily go around using his skateboard. To school was fine but anywhere else? Yeah he needed a car.

"My aunt works at the hospital. As a nurse." Since Stiles had started sharing more about himself and the town he figured he should too.

"How far is the coffee shop?"
